Weld cleaning consumables
Choose Cougartron fluids for stainless steel weld cleaning, passivation, polishing and neutralising after the cleaning process.
The right fluid affects cleaning speed, finish quality, transport handling and post-cleaning surface appearance.
How to choose
Use weld cleaning fluid to remove heat tint and oxide after stainless steel welding while supporting the passivation process.
Choose a stronger cleaning and polishing fluid when you need more bite, brighter finish quality or work across heavier stainless welds.
Use neutralising fluid after cleaning, polishing or marking where required to remove residues and reduce the risk of white marks.

CGT-650 is a convenient powder utilized with water to create weld cleaning solutions when conventional fluid storage and transportation are impractical. Combine 2.5 oz of CGT-650 with 1qt of water to produce 1qt of weld cleaning fluid – with the same potency as our CGT-350.
CGT-550 is Cougartron’s high-performance weld-cleaning and polishing fluid for stainless steel TIG and MIG welds. Use it for electrochemical cleaning, passivation and electropolishing, then neutralize the treated surface with CGT-N5.
CGT-350 is an effective fluid for stainless steel weld cleaning and passivation. It is recommended to use for cleaning stainless TIG welds. The CGT-350 is a milder version of CGT-550 fluid and thus it is safe to transport by air.
CGT-N5 is a ready-to-use, water-based neutralizing fluid for stainless steel after weld cleaning, electropolishing or electrochemical marking. It helps remove acidic residue and reduce white marks when used after the surface has been wiped clean.
Fluid types
A milder weld cleaning fluid for stainless TIG weld cleaning and passivation. A good starting point for regular stainless cleaning work.
A stronger weld cleaning and polishing fluid for demanding cleaning tasks, bright finish work and broader stainless applications.
A powder concentrate mixed with water to create weld cleaning fluid when liquid storage or transport is less practical.
A neutralising fluid used after cleaning, polishing or marking to help remove residues and reduce the appearance of white marks.

Choose by process and finish. CGT-350 is a milder weld cleaning fluid for stainless TIG welds. CGT-550 is stronger and suited to cleaning and polishing work. CGT-N5 is used for neutralising after cleaning, polishing or marking.
CGT-350 is a milder weld cleaning fluid and is a good starting point for stainless TIG weld cleaning. CGT-550 is stronger and is used where more cleaning power, polishing performance or a brighter finish is needed.
Use CGT-N5 after weld cleaning, polishing or marking when you need to neutralise residues and help prevent white marks on the surface.
CGT-650 is a powder concentrate mixed with water to produce weld cleaning fluid. It is useful where storing or transporting conventional liquid fluid is less practical.
Some fluids are designed for both cleaning and polishing, but the correct choice depends on the machine, brush, material and finish requirement. Do not treat all fluids as interchangeable.
